Hi I'm,
Don Clifford
Author Don Clifford has led Bible Studies for over 60 years, many of them team teaching with his wife Karen. The couple also teamed up in writing about their experience as life-long Christians whose marriage and faith survived the loss of three of their living children. Don authored Grace Enough for Three, Losing Three Children but Finding God’s All-Sufficient Grace. The couple coauthored Heavenly Grief, a Christian’s Guide to Spiritual and Emotional Healing. Their two living daughters have blessed them with six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Karen died of Parkinson’s Disease in 2020.
Don had a rewarding career as a physicist and aerospspace engineer working with NASA and the Department of Defence. After his retirement, Don and Karen traveled extensively, leading mission trips to several countries in Europe and South America.
Don is president and founder of Agape Communications, Inc, owner and operator of Christian radio station KSGL in Wichita, Kansas. He has served several years on the Executive Board of the Missouri Baptist Convention. He now lives in Missouri and leads Bible studies at the First Baptist Church of St. Charles. How Don Clifford Turned Tragedy Into Testimony Through Faith, Service, and Storytelling
When it comes to spiritual resilience, few lives illuminate the path as clearly as Don Clifford’s. With decades of ministry, engineering ingenuity, and unshakable faith, Clifford is not just an author—he’s a survivor, a servant, and a storyteller whose journey is steeped in both heartache and hope.
On April 28, 2024, EC Publishing LLC released Clifford’s deeply moving book, Heavenly Grief: A Christian Guide to Spiritual and Emotional Healing, coauthored with his late wife Karen Clifford. Drawing from personal experience and lifelong faith, the book offers clear, compassionate guidance for those navigating the complex terrain of grief. Its impact is evident in its growing readership, ranked among Amazon’s best-selling titles in Love & Loss, Christian Self Help, and Death & Grief.
The Cliffords’ story is both extraordinary and deeply human. As young parents, Don and Karen endured the unimaginable loss of three of their children—each tragedy testing their faith, yet also transforming it. From the sudden loss of their toddler Mike, to the long and painful illness of baby Rachel, and the devastating drowning of their daughter Beth, their journey became a testimony of God’s all-sufficient grace.
Instead of collapsing under sorrow, they rose—together. Through trial and error, scripture and surrender, they discovered spiritual tools and emotional healing that textbooks rarely mention. Their writing teaches others how to lean into God’s comfort, avoid spiritual pitfalls, and reclaim joy after despair.
Outside of their writing, Don’s legacy spans far and wide. A physicist and aerospace engineer, he contributed to the Department of Defense and NASA, before turning his technical brilliance toward mission work with Karen—leading faith-filled trips across Europe and South America. He also served on the Executive Board of the Missouri Baptist Convention, and today, leads Bible studies at First Baptist Church of St. Charles.
Don is also founder of Agape Communications, Inc., and president of KSGL, a Christian radio station based in Wichita, Kansas. Whether through books, broadcasts, or Bible studies, he continues to sow hope and healing into lives near and far.
Now retired and living in Missouri, Don remains a devoted father, grandfather of six, and great-grandfather to nine—his legacy carried on not just through family, but through every page he’s penned.
Heavenly Grief is more than a guide—it’s a lifeline for anyone who has felt shattered by sorrow, yet still longs to smile again.
